Module 1: Recognize the animal and control it forever
Our journey into food self-control begins with understanding of the mechanisms which are the basis of our behavior, especially in relation to food. As you will see in module # 1, there is an area within the brain that can work against you - that is, against your long-term well-being. If you are unable to recognize it in action, it could cause you a lot of trouble.
This area is very good at disguising its purpose-centered instant gratification, through the creation of a persuasive but fundamentally irrational and highly dysfunctional internal dialogue. You will learn how not to be overwhelmed by the impulses coming from this area we call animal brain thanks to the powerful inhibitory brake offered by your human brain.
Module 2: How to Disable Survival Mode
If you want to stop the emotional and overabundant feeding, you will need to start by deactivating survival mode. The survival mode is the state in which the brain erroneously perceives the presence of danger of physical death due to hunger, or in any case, due to depletion of caloric stocks.
As long as your brain is in such a state of alarm, you won't be able to achieve healthy food control. For this reason we begin our journey of self-rehabilitation feed from here. The objective of module # 2 is therefore to find the balance between the extremes characterized by calorie restriction and high calorie diet.
Module 3: The principle of small wins
One of the most frequent reasons why we fail to achieve our most coveted goals is based on the error of asking ourselves goals too ambition in too short a time frame. This intuitive, but erroneous way of constructing goals strongly jeopardizes their achievement. In fact, with these kinds of unrealistic goals we condemn ourselves to the frustration of never seeing them achieved. There is another way to effectively deal with the planning of our goals: through a more approach rational, realistic and gradual. This way of working with goals has been thoroughly researched.
Some of the most eminent pioneers of the study of human behavior have formulated some approaches based on the creation of small daily habits that lead us almost automatically to achieve our goals. The objectives will also need to be revised in such a way as to include a graduality in their pursuit. The union of small daily habits and gradually increasing goals form what I called in module # 3 principle of small victories.
